SIX WEEKS OLD

Today the pups received their Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2- Parainfluenza-Parvovirus Vaccine. They also had their nails clipped for the second time and are doing very well at letting us handle their feet. They have been getting used to vacuum cleaners, have been outside on the front lawn, and are  beginning  to be paper trained in their enclosure. If you are interested or have any questions please E mail dupperwolfhounds@gmail.com

Bailey's Wolfhound whiskers are starting to be more pronounced. It took forever to get a still shot of her!

Abby at six weeks, ready for her nail trim and file

FIVE WEEKS OLD

The little pups just started eating solids and love it! They devour IAM’s large breed puppy food. Now they’re out of the whelping box and in their own enclosure. Caleigh still nurses several times a day. They’ve met gidget, the Havanese, new guests, and love attention from us!

One of their favorite visitors is Granddaughter Evalyn, who, at ten months old, has decided she wants to be a veterinarian- or dog trainer at least, or maybe both!

The pups have decided they love kissing little girls fingers.

FOUR WEEKS OLD TODAY

They are learning self confidence, how to play well, and love people!Growing by leaps and bounds, they are still nursing and haven’t started solids yet. One of their favorite activities is trying to climb out of the whelping box! We keep adding more wood to the sides as we are not ready to let them out of the whelping box yet. Mama Caleigh is so patient with them!

Our Current Puppies

We were thrilled when Caleigh delivered two puppies on July 13th. This was her first litter and she has been an excellent, relaxed mother. Here she is in the beginnings of labor, not quite sure what is happening and looking to us for reassurance.

Puppy "A " Abby is red wheaten with light brindle markings, and will look like Caleigh. Puppy ‘B’ Bailey, is a wheaten and will take after papa Brady.

Here they are at one day old. They were vigorous from day one. The next few weeks were spent admiring  and  constantly monitoring them.

Our granddaughter Evalyn, along with the rest of us, Can’t get enough of them!

Bailey at four weeks, getting some socialization time with a friend.

Dupper Wolfhounds: Our Stud

Our Stud, Brady

Brady is a two and a half year old AKC Registered male from a small Kennel in Texas. His father is a champion, CH Silverstars Johnny Be Good. Brady  is  the proverbial  couch potato but loves to tear around  chasing Caleigh! He loves hanging out with us on hikes and also spends many hours supervising our horses, chickens, ducks and goats. He has learned he’s not allowed to chase the horses but is still tempted by the goats upon occasion! He’s gentle and patient  with our two grandchildren and absolutely believes that everyone who comes over is here to see him!

Brady is one of the most mellow dogs I have ever met! Even as a puppy, he just wanted to relax, be loved and hang out with the fam!

Dupper Wolfhounds: Our Female

OUR FEMALE, CALEIGH

Caleigh is a red wheaten with brindle markings. She’s about one hundred pounds and 30 inches at the withers. She loves it when all of  the family is around- Our four kids, their spouses and the two grandchildren, and all their dogs! She’s the first to greet  any company we have, and has never met a stranger! Irish Wolfhounds look intimidating if you dont’t see their tails wagging furiously first.

Our son Matt, hangin’ with the hounds.

Caleigh gives new meaning to the word “lapdog”. She’s happiest when she’s allowed in your personal space! This photo was totally unrehearsed. I invited her up and my husband quickly snapped the picture.

She was very easy to obedience train, and likes to do a few tricks when the right treat is presented. Here is a photo when we had a little down stay exercise with a few of our family’s dogs and her playmates.

Here again, in her favorite position while horse camping with the family.

Caleigh and Brady were buddies from the beginning!

Brady and Caleigh with some of their furry friends. Standing up on the fence is Caleigh. She was taught that by our next door neighbor so he could reach to pat her. Even now, when she hears his voice, she races over to where ever he is.

About Our Family

Welcome to our blog! We are Ed and Kathy Dupper- mini-ranchers, and Irish Wolfhound Enthusiasts. We love this Loyal, sweet tempered breed! This was a Christmas photo taken when Brady, our male was 9 1/2 months old and Caleigh, our female was 1 1/2 years old. ( Hopefully,  this picture doesn't fall into the awkward family photo category!)  Gidget, our 9 year old Havanese, also loves the big dogs! We hope this blog will give you glimpse into our life and adventures with the dogs! Have a look around and enjoy.
